First Doctors Visit

Thought I Would Share Some Of My Few Experiences With Different Doctors Over The Years. Before Being Diagnosed With Chiari More Than Likely You May Have Experienced Quite The Few Specialist Such As Ears, Nose And Throat Specialists, Ophthalmologist, Urologist, Neurologist, Psychiatrist, And So Many More.

I Believe That Most Of My Health Problems Relate Somehow To Chiari.  Not All Of My Aches, Pains And Other Are Related To Chiari.  However, If The Central Nervous System Is Not Working Properly How Can Certain Areas Of Our Body Function Correctly.

Also, I Can’t Count How Many Doctors Appointments I walked Out Of More Confused, Crying, Mad, And I felt So Alone With This Diagnoses Of Chiari.

If You Feel Alone You Are Not Alone.  Really You Are Not Alone.  Chiari Is Rare In  Most Of The Health Professional Field.  A Lot Of People Are Living With Chiari And Are Being Misdiagnosed, Or Don’t Even Know They Have it.  The Good News It Is Becoming More Known Tonday The Year 2008. But, Still A Long Ways To Go.

Always Get A Second Opinion.

I Strongly Advise That If You Have Chiari Try And Learn All That You Can About Chiari Before Your First Visit With Whichever Doctor You Choose.  It Is Very Important To Know Before Your First Visit A Little Bio On Your Nurosurgeon Or Neurologist. This Helps Out Allot. If You Did Your Homework About Chiari; You Might Know More About Chiari Than Your Neurologist Do. Or If You Are One Of The Blessed Ones You Will Get A Great Neurologist And Neurosurgeon.

Every Time I Visit My Neurosurgeon Or Neurologist I Always Type Up Notes What I Want To Let Him Know, Questions I Want To Ask And I Always Make Sure I Take Notes.  If You Can’t Type Or Write Ask Your Caregiver To Help You.

To Learn About Your Neurosurgeon Try Using Google For A Search Or Ask Someone In Any Online Yahoo Support Group. You Might Get different Opinions From Different People. As We All Are Made Up Differently.
